I went to DC for Obama's inauguration and stayed the night prior with friends in Adam's Morgan. This is us heading downtown at 6:30 am.
Upon arriving at the parade route, we encountered spontaneous line dancing and crushing crowds.
Supporters in front of the Lincoln Memorial cheered as Obama was sworn in.
Some attendees read passages aloud by Martin Luther King Jr. while Bush's helicopter passed overhead.
People gathered in front of City Hall hours before Barack Obama was scheduled to arrive. High ground was quickly swarmed.
From onstage, the crowd was led in an aerobic exercise to try to keep warm.
It was viciously cold.
A lot of families showed up with their kids, and despite the freezing temperatures and long wait, everyone seemed to stay in high spirits.
